Mercedes CLS 63 AMG goes Stealth with German Special Customs

Mercedes built the CLS on the underpinnings of the E Class. They said so with the original, they’ve neglected to mention the same thing with the newest version.

Even so, we remember and we can quickly verify this sort of stuff. Unlike the E Class however, the Mercedes CLS is a sleek and stealthy kind of car.

With the most capable version, the furious CLS 63 AMG, the four door coupe doesn’t need any effort to move about in a feline fashion.

It’s that inherent feel that this relatively new tuner, German Special Customs, want to build upon with their latest package offering.

We can see how they’ve tried to do that with the exterior. We can also see how they’ve failed miserably. The German tuner may claim to have produced a stealthy car but apart from the paint it’s as obvious as they come.

On the brighter side, the new body kit is more aerodynamic than the one the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG leaves the factory with and it is lighter thanks to some carbon fiber panels.

Also in the aid of performance, the twin-turbocharged 5.5 liter V8 engine has been considerably upgraded. That powerplant now produces 750 horsepower and 848 lb-ft of torque.

That’s about 200 more of each so it’s no surprise to see the 3.7 second 0 to 60 time or the top speed of 217 mph.

Those aren’t the sort of figures you can mess around with. The extra speed is a welcomed thing if you’re to avoid shocking people on the road.
