German tuner Kicherer has just announced a pretty interestingly styled makeover for the recently unveiled 2012 Mercedes ML SUV.
Essentially, the new package is a widebody kit for what’s already very wide vehicle. So how do Kicherer make it feel special if it’s such a simple approach?
It’s still not clear to me but I will tell you something. It doesn’t look like a normal widened SUV and it doesn’t have the unpleasantly aggressive visual clout that ensues.
There’s something really weird going on since it all seems unnatural for this sort of modification package but the good looks actually point towards the opposite.
The new bumpers, skirts and the extended wheel arches not only flow beautifully into one another but also merge brilliantly, and the way only a German engineered product could, into the original panels of the 2012 Mercedes ML.
Some usual upgrades are also offered by the tuner, there’s an LED daytime running lights package, a new set of alloys and a lowered suspension to highlight the whole thing.
The drop measures in at 25 mm and the wheels come in at 22 inches. The latter are once again a bit of a surprise in terms of the final effect. Clean, smooth, simple five spokes almost never go wrong.
Inside the new Kicherer prepared Mercedes ML you can find Alcantara, Nappa leather and even some carbon fiber trim pieces.
The kit is still under development so pricing and performance options aren’t announced but since it will go on sale this summer, we imagine that information isn’t too far away.
