Hamann Tuning unleashes the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Guardian Evo

Hamann Tuning seem to be getting more and more of a company specializing in offering opulent products for owners of cars which already are.

After they’ve made a special candy-like conversion of the “in your face” Mercedes SLS AMG roadster they’re having a go at the Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

It’s called the Guardian Evo and it’s really, really, really difficult to justify. Regardless of look, performance it’s just not doable.

Getting past the exterior and the spec sheet you find an interior setup that’s surprisingly decent. Sure, it’s not the sort you get in the most boring of Audi but it’s not the kind you find in a Zonda either.

Hamann’s Guardian Evo package delivers a widebody kit, a set of enormous air vents, LEDs and other lights everywhere and some enormous 23 inch alloy wheels.

Those wheels are wrapped in 315/25 Dunlop Sport Maxx tires which are said to aid performance but since there’s no give in them that’s a subjective matter.

Speaking of which, thanks to a new air filter, a sports exhaust system and an ECU remap, the 4.8 liter V8 twin-turbo engine now develops 550 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque.

This is roughly the same sort of performance the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S delivers. Regardless of the ugly kit on top, the Guardian Evo goes from 0 to 62 in 4.6 seconds and can hit a top speed of 187 mph.
