The Ford F-250 pickup truck is extremely powerful and capable on its own, but it doesn’t hurt to improve a great truck into an even better one. Shelby has the same thoughts in mind when they produced the 2021 Shelby F-250 Super Baja. The large vehicle is a beefed-up version of the Ford F-250, and it can compete with the likes of the F-150 Raptor performance truck. Shelby will only produce 250 examples of the Super Baja, so your chances of getting one are extremely limited.
Shelby has left the engine department unchanged and kept Ford’s 6.7-liter turbodiesel powertrain that produces 475 hp and a whopping 1,050 lb-ft of torque. The big changes come in the suspension department that receives massive upgrades. The company has added a BDS lift kit, bespoke front radius arms, and a dual steering stabilizer in the mix. The Fox 2.5 adjustable coilovers replace the factory dampers in the front while the rear receives piggyback shocks.
The suspension improvements should help the F-250 Super Baja maneuver through any challenging terrain. If there is any doubt in the truck’s abilities, the 18-inch wheels with the 37-inch BF Goodrich tires should clear all questions. Shelby has also added a bunch of spare wheels in the rear, which can come in handy during emergencies.
The company has enhanced the appearance as well to differentiate the Super Baja from the regular F-250. A new hood scoop has been added that helps with engine cooling. The front and rear bumpers have received a fresh new powder coat to improve the aesthetics. Moreover, LED light bars have been installed on the roof and below the front grille.
The cabin gets premium leather upholstery, with Shelby badging. Furthermore, carbon fiber and stainless steel highlights are spread throughout the interior.
The 2021 Shelby F-250 Super Baja costs $125,805, well above the base price of the Ford F-250.
