Tuning does get annoying at times. There’s so much to talk about, so many different ideas and trends that it’s very difficult to approach everything objectively.
This one for example, is a package created by SR Auto Group for the Mercedes CLS63 AMG and is purposed rather… uncomfortably.
According to the Canadian tuner, the idea is that they’re supposed to create the subtle and pretty version of the CLS63 AMG four door coupe.
While the new version of the Mercedes CLS63 AMG looks amazing, it’ll almost certainly stand out in a crowd. Trust me on this, it will.
And it’s not just the idea of us looking at a matte grey paint job, blacked out details and a rather “petite” vehicle.
It’s because the tuning world, and even some of the mass production manufacturers, have created cars that shine and cover everything in reflection.
And then there’s the idea about the Mercedes CLS63 AMG being considerably imposing in itself. Think of it as a dwarf god among diesel hatchbacks.
With that sort of power lurking under its bonnet, it’s no wonder SR Auto Group didn’t mess about with tuning the 5.5 liter twin-turbo engine.
550 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque is certainly enough for the slightly conservative looking CLS. Don’t worry though, you can still showoff to your friends.
Apart from the, erm, distinctive, looks SR Auto Group have also renamed their newest creation the “Project Stratos”.
That’s just a backup in case they’re blind enough not to notice the differences both inside and out in colors (and their brightness) from the “standard” vehicle.
